Terms

Money first, because that is what you came for: what Pro costs, how to stop paying for it, and how to get your money back. The rest of the contract is under it.

Terms for the jevmod software and the hosted Discord bot, effective 2026-09-19. Where a statement comes from the code, the line is listed in CLAIMS.md.

The short answers

What does it cost?

Nothing, ever: the Free plan never sends a message to the model, so there is no allowance to run out of. A fourteen day trial or Pro opens the model's judgement, up to that plan's monthly quota.

The Pro plan costs $3.99 per server per month. Pro covers 50,000 judged messages per server per month.

How do I cancel?

Once a subscription exists you can cancel it at any time from Stripe's billing portal, reached with the same /mod upgrade command that opened the payment page.

Cancelling stops the next payment. The server goes back to the Free plan when Stripe tells jevmod the subscription is no longer active, not at the moment you click cancel.

Deleting your data is not cancelling. /mod forget wipes jevmod's own rows for your server, including its record of the subscription, and never calls Stripe, so Stripe keeps charging the card. Cancel in the portal first, then forget.

Removing jevmod from your server is different: it cancels a Pro subscription for you, at the end of the period you already paid for, the same way clicking cancel in the portal does. Deleting your jevmod.dev account does not: one account can administer several servers, and deleting it does not remove the bot from any of them, so it cancels nothing.

If I hate it, do I get my money back?

Within 14 days of buying, yes, in full, no reason needed, if you bought as a person rather than for a business. After that there is no automatic refund, but there is a person who reads the email and decides. The whole route is one address, omarhernandezbastos@gmail.com, and what happens next is in refunds below.

What the bot may and may not do to your members is under the hosted bot. What it stores about them is on the privacy page.

Refunds

Where to write. omarhernandezbastos@gmail.com. Say the name of the Discord server and the email address you paid with, and what went wrong. There is no form, no ticket number and no account to create. Refund requests do not go to GitHub: an issue there is public and needs a GitHub account, and neither of those should be a condition of getting your own money back.

Who answers. Omar Hernandez, the one person who runs jevmod, from Spain. Not a support team and not a rota, so the honest expectation is a reply in days rather than in minutes, and slower when he is away from the machine. If enough time has passed that you are wondering whether the mail arrived, send it again; that is not a nuisance, it is the backup plan.

Within 14 days of buying. You get all of it back, without giving a reason, under the withdrawal right in changing your mind below. Nothing to argue about.

After 14 days. A period already paid is not refunded automatically; refunds outside the withdrawal window are handled by hand, one at a time.

In practice these are refunded without an argument, and it helps to say which one you are:

What is not refunded is a month you used and then changed your mind about. Cancel instead, and the next one does not get charged.

How the money comes back. Through Stripe, to the card it came from. jevmod holds no card details and cannot move money any other way.

Before you call your bank. If you are about to file a chargeback, send the email first. It reaches the person who can actually press refund, and it is faster than a dispute through your bank, which takes months to resolve. A chargeback also costs the operator a fixed fee several times the price of the subscription, on top of returning your money, so a dispute over $3.99 is a bad outcome for both sides when an email would have settled it the same week.

If the email gets you nowhere, you are not stuck with it: the consumer authority in the country you live in, and your card issuer, both remain open. That is said here on purpose, so the page is not the last word.

The software

jevmod is free software under the MIT License. It is provided as is, without warranty of any kind.

jevmod is an independent project by Omar Hernandez and is not affiliated with TypeSafe, Discord, Telegram or Reddit.

The hosted bot

By default every category except offtopic is set to flag: the message is reported to your log channel and nothing else happens. The offtopic category is off by default.

The bot deletes a message or times a member out only for a category or rule you have set to delete or timeout with /mod set or /mod rule. A time out lasts 10 minutes.

The bot never bans anyone: its only actions are off, flag, delete and timeout.

Thresholds go from 0.50 to 0.99. You can add up to 5 rules in your own words.

Decisions are probabilities from a machine-learning model compared with thresholds you set; there will be false positives and false negatives.

You are responsible for the actions you enable, for the rules you write, for telling your members that automated moderation is in use, and for complying with the law that applies to your community.

Plans and billing

The prices and the quotas are in the short answers. This is how they behave.

Pro is on sale through Stripe Checkout, one subscription per Discord server, started with /mod upgrade. A copy of jevmod you run yourself has no billing at all, and there /mod upgrade answers that this copy is self-hosted and there is nothing to pay.

Judged means sent to the model: the counter grows only by messages the model receives, so messages skipped by the local filters or answered from the cache do not count.

When a server reaches its quota, judging pauses until the next calendar month and nothing is deleted while paused. The bot posts one notice in the log channel the first time the quota is reached in a month, and /mod status shows the count at any time.

When the subscription ends the server returns to the Free plan.

Changing your mind, for consumers in the EU

If you are in the EU and you bought Pro as a person rather than for a business, you have a right of withdrawal. You can cancel within 14 days of buying, without giving a reason, and get your money back.

Digital services have an exception to that: the right can be lost when the service starts immediately, but only if you were asked to agree to that and to acknowledge that you were giving the right up.

The Stripe Checkout page jevmod opens does not ask you for that agreement.

So the exception does not apply, and the 14 days stand even though Pro starts as soon as the payment clears.

To use it, write to omarhernandezbastos@gmail.com within 14 days and say you are withdrawing. You do not need a form and you do not need a reason. The money goes back to the card it came from, through Stripe, within 14 days of the operator receiving the request.

If you bought Pro for a business, this section is not for you: the withdrawal right belongs to consumers. Cancelling in Stripe's billing portal is still open at any time, and it stops the next payment. Refunds above still applies to you.

Availability

There is no service level agreement; jevmod is not the right tool if you need one.

If the model cannot be reached, the bot takes no action on that batch of messages and lets them through.

The self-harm category

The selfharm category exists to alert moderators so a person can reach out. It is not a medical or crisis service and must not be used as one. It is flag-only by design in the defaults.

Who you are contracting with

Pro is sold by Omar Hernandez, a sole trader (autónomo) in Valencia, Spain. There is no company behind it, and no staff. The address for anything to do with your purchase, including refunds, is omarhernandezbastos@gmail.com, and it is the same address as the one on the privacy page.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of Spain, where the operator is based.

If you are a consumer, that choice does not take away the protection of the consumer rules of the country you live in. You can also raise a complaint with the consumer authority there.

Changes to these terms

When these terms change, the effective date at the top changes and the previous version stays in the repository history.
